About Us
Established in 1994 as "The Home of Club Motorsport" by Paul Samuels and John Carter, Wakefield Park is one of the few privately owned motor racing circuits in Australia. The circuit was originally conceived to cater to the modest budgets of club and historic motorsport enthusiasts, whilst also deriving income from running professionally organised events.
In 2000, Wakefield Park was acquired by a Sydney based consortium. The new owners are building on Wakefield Park's grass roots beginnings in club and historic motorsport, by improving the circuit and facilities, running higher profile meetings and expanding the corporate activities.
The new owners have achieved the following since acquiring the track:
- Changed the layout (two corners) to provide more open racing
- Widened parts of the circuit to improve competitive driving and safety
- Installed over 17 new ripple strips that comply with all FIA standards
- Added two gravel traps to the new circuit for increased safety
- Created a pit lane with concrete tarmac and garages for 30 pit crews
- Acquired seven V8 racecars for corporate events
- Established onsite Track Management to run the corporate events
- Purchased the adjacent land of 550 acres allowing future possibilities
- Televised rounds of Konica V8 Supercars and Procar Champ Series, and AMRS rounds
- Several rounds of the NSW State Championships
- 2004 round of the Australian Superbike Series
- 2004 round of the NSW Superkarts
- Upgraded Sprint Kart track
- 2005 round of Initial Drift championship and 2005 Australian Tractor Pullers Asociation Round
In the near future, we are planning:
- Track based driving school aimed at youth age drivers
